アメリカで生まれたデニム生地を使用した作業着ジーパンは、今ではファッションアイテムとして世界中に広がり、ここ日本で作るデニムも価値ある存在として、日々お探しの方がZABOUには多くいらっしゃいます。

サイズ感、生地、色落ち全てに拘ったジーンズの全貌を改めてご紹介します。
まずはデザイナーである林氏について。

RESOLUTE is the only pair of jeans that ZABOU has carried for 16 years.
We'll take this opportunity to reintroduce the full story of these jeans, which are meticulously crafted in terms of sizing, fabric, and fading.
First, let's talk about the designer, Mr. Hayashi.

デザイナーについてーDesignerー

RESOLUTEは40年以上ジーンズファッションに携わってきた、業界の第一人者、林 芳亨（はやし よしゆき）氏による日本のジーンズブランド。
大手ジーンズメーカーから転職後、ジーンズをメインとしたメンズファッションブランド「Denime」を立ち上げる。
Denimeのデザイナーを引退後、念願であったジーンズのみの専業ブランド「RESOLUTE」をスタートさせ、今に至る。

RESOLUTE is a Japanese jeans brand created by Yoshiyuki Hayashi, a leading figure in the jeans fashion industry with over 40 years of experience.
After leaving a major jeans manufacturer, he launched "Denime," a men's fashion brand focusing on jeans.
After retiring as designer for Denime, he started "RESOLUTE," his long-desired brand specializing solely in jeans, and continues to run it to this day.

まず、RESOLUTEは林氏の理想を形にすべく、①紡績（綿から糸にする工程）、インディゴ染織②製織（糸から布地にする工程）③裁断、縫製の工程全てを別の工場で行っている。何故、分けるのか。それは前述のように、理想とする（ヴィンテージの良い時代のLevi's 501）ジーンズを作るためである。

First, in order to bring Mr. Hayashi's ideal to life, RESOLUTE carries out all three processes—① spinning (the process of turning cotton into yarn), indigo dyeing, ② weaving (the process of turning yarn into fabric), and ③ cutting and sewing—in separate factories. Why separate them? As mentioned above, it is to create the ideal jeans (Levi's 501 from a good vintage era).

林氏の思う理想の501とは、即ち70年代に入り、作業着からファッションアイテムへとシフトしていったもの。つまり66モデルと呼ばれるストレートではなく、緩やかに裾にかけて絞ったテーパードシルエット。そんな66モデルを参考にRESOLUTE流にモディファイしたのが、ブランドスタート時からのフラッグシップモデルである710だ。

Mr. Hayashi's ideal 501 is the one that shifted from workwear to a fashion item in the 1970s. In other words, not the straight leg known as the 66 model, but a tapered silhouette that narrows gently towards the hem. The 710, the brand's flagship model since its inception, is a modification of that 66 model in the RESOLUTE style.

サイズ展開ーSize rangeー

ウエストとレングスの掛け合わせにより、全87サイズまでになる。まず、ここまでサイズ展開の多いジーンズは、RESOLUTEくらいだろう。それまではカットするのが当たり前だったジーンズが、一番きれいなシルエットで穿ける。何よりジーンズだけを作り続けるブランドが、他にあるだろうか？
商業的にも、ファッションブランドとしても、そういった1つのビジネスモデルとして成功しているのは、これまで妥協せずひたむきにジーンズのみを作り続けてきた結果と言えるだろう。

By combining waist and length measurements, they offer a total of 87 sizes. First of all, RESOLUTE is probably the only brand of jeans with such a wide range of sizes. While previously jeans had to be cut, RESOLUTE allows you to wear them with the most flattering silhouette. More importantly, are there any other brands that continue to make only jeans?
Their success as a business model, both commercially and as a fashion brand, is a testament to their unwavering dedication to making only jeans without compromise.

「アメリカンカジュアルのみだけでなく、様々なアイテムと合わせることのできる唯一のボトムスがジーパン」と、林氏は語る。細身でスタイリッシュなRESOLUTEのジーンズは、欧州の洗練された靴や洋服との相性も良く、正に大人のためのジーパンと言えるだろう。

"Jeans are the only bottoms that can be paired with a variety of items, not just American casual wear," says Hayashi. RESOLUTE's slim-fitting, stylish jeans go well with sophisticated European shoes and clothing, making them truly jeans for adults.

色落ちーColor fadingー

「経年変化する（色落ちする）洋服は、デニムだけ。そんな経年変化を楽しみながら、洋服に応じて好みの色味でコーディネートするのが好き」と、林氏は語る。
シルエットの美しさもさることながら、色落ちの良さも、RESOLUTEが拘っているポイントの一つ。
作られた表情ではなく、自分自身の体形や、ライフスタイルに反映された色落ちを楽しんでほしいからこそ、RESOLUTEはあえてリジッドか1ウォッシュのみの販売とする。

"Denim is the only type of clothing that changes (fades) over time. I enjoy that aging process and coordinating it with my favorite colors depending on the outfit," says Hayashi.

Besides the beautiful silhouette, the quality of the fading is also one of the points that RESOLUTE is particular about.
Because they want customers to enjoy the fading that reflects their own body shape and lifestyle, rather than a manufactured look, RESOLUTE deliberately sells only rigid or one-wash denim.

そんなRESOLUTEが目指すところは、ヴィンテージ風ではなく、れっきとしたヴィンテージの生地を再現できるよう、Levi’sの提携工場であった旧式力織機を扱う工場にて依頼している。

RESOLUTE's goal is not to create vintage-style fabrics, but to reproduce genuine vintage fabrics, so they commission a factory that uses old-fashioned power looms, which was formerly a partner factory of Levi's.

全4品番からなるRESOLUTEのジーンズ。
シルエットの違い、生地の違い、ベースにしているモデルの違いなどなど理由は様々。しかし、一番はどんな人でも穿けるジーンズというのが理想。身体的特徴などを踏まえて、全四品番から、あなたにピッタリのジーンズを選ぶことができる。

RESOLUTEでは唯一501以外の品番をベースに作られた一本。
アメリカ東海岸のアイビーリーガーに愛された505をベースに、テーパードをしっかりと効かせたシルエットが魅力的。

This is the only pair of jeans in the RESOLUTE collection that is based on a model other than the 501.
Based on the 505, a favorite among Ivy Leaguers on the American East Coast, it boasts an attractive silhouette with a pronounced taper.

50年代の501がベースとなっている為、
生地感は当時に倣ってややライトオンス。

Because it's based on the 501 from the 1950s, the fabric is slightly lighter in weight, just like back then.

ストレートシルエットで、ワークスタイルにも対応可能な一本。50年代のボーイズモデルを参考にしているため、股上が浅く、腰回りはすっきりとしている。
